REWILD. THE CABINET OF WONDERS

A new art & design installation created by The Curators Milan on occasion of the Milan Digital Week 2021: a museum, a pop-up shop, a Post-Anthropocene wunderkammer.

THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY
THE SHOP IS OPEN!

Hold your breath… that's the world without diatoms.

The Curators Milan proposes a multi-level installation and experience. From the external windows of the showroom, as if from a kairos, an opening, you can just glimpse the digital transhuman skull and witness the subversion of an order that seemed consolidated, a mutation that seemed impossible: from death a new life.

The collective has transported the Transhuman Skull exhibited in Prologue back in time, transforming it from a hologram into a techno-fossil, and displaying it as a finding from another space and time: a primitive altar, a digital skull, a golden stump set ablaze by vanity.

Passing through the space-creep created inside the store where the installation permeates the spaces of its existence like a totem made of gold, almost a ritual of passage waiting to be performed, the offering to time of a transformed work or the echo of a future prayer of indulgence: the almost burnt wood evokes the tribal and primitive aspects of human movements, while the golden signs tell of the prosperity of an era, the arrogance of the Anthropocene and the illusion of transmutation.

Closing the experience and opening it up to final reflection is the magical Cabinet of Wonders, where you can buy some of the last surviving diatoms, along with organic memories, artefacts from the Anthropocene era and other wonders of biodiversity. The installations are choral works created by several elements and conceived by the creative group The Curators Milan.

During the Milano Digital Week, The Curators Milan presents Prologue: Diatoms In The Multiverse and its extension T
he Cabinet Of Wonders, two immersive experiences located at the Vicolo Art Gallery (via Maroncelli), and at the Big Apple Design space (in the Cinque Vie district).

The extension of the Rewild collaborative project, through the creation of an artistic, virtual and urban connection between two physical and conceptual places, invites the public to understand and experience the city in an extraordinary way, and to put together a puzzle made of design, art, science and technology.

An aesthetic, ironic and ultra-contemporary journey that joins two points of the city while seeking, in the light of the consequences of Climate Change, the sense of two points in time, today and tomorrow, to find ourselves in a more equitable and sustainable city but also to incubate a movement of thought for a planet where biodiversity is not a digital memory.

The communicative urge to reflect on the unpredictable consequences of Climate Emergency unites the artists, creatives and designers alike, giving life not to an exhibition of different languages that dialogue with each other but to a holistic and choral work, which aims to break down the sense of the individual artist and compose instead a single harmony, an organic movement, a shared intuition.

The Curators Milan, through an artistic direction that leans on scientific data and relationships with researchers, artists, scholars and activists, creates the prototype of a new formula of fluid collaboration, where the future of technology embraces the past of traditional arts, where the ego of the individual is sublimated by the intention of the collective and where through art and design the installations challenge the physical limits of the techniques used, merging them into a synthesis, a vision, an awareness.
